Narrative

We aimed to create our music video narrative around the story of Alice in Wonderland. Our  female protagonist (representing Alice) is shown at home, amongst her family and clearly not completely comfortable or feeling included.

This is a snapshot of the scene which we aimed to explicitly show Rosie secluded from her family, people who she should be happy and comfortable with. Rosie wants to find her 'Wonderland' (which is clearly not with her family). In this particular scene we wanted to use elements of Alice In Wonderland, to emphasise the similar narrative. The teacups for example are shown in the 'Mad Hatters' tea party, and so used them as props in this scene.



This is screenshot of our characters 'Wonderland'. The powder paint represents the idea of freedom and show a much happier side to our female protagonist. By using two other characters in this particular scene it is clear our character has managed to find others, and found a 'tribe' in which she feels comfortable and herself (as oppose to her family).

ALBUM 

I liked the idea of using a lot of colour for my front cover for my album. As we were already using powder paint in our music video I thought it would be a good idea to incorporate that into the album cover. I felt the colours were much more eye catching, and interesting to an audience. I also wanted to use simple white letters for the title, like these examples as it stands out much more in contrast to the colours, making the album name and band name stand out. 

MAGAZINE ADVERT

Taking inspiration from various other magazine adverts for albums, I wanted to use simple white letters against a black background, creating a more eye catching advert. I also wanted to use a black background as when i added the image of the album into the magazine advert it would stand out even more due to the colourful image.

Dinner Scene

Here are the teacups we used for our dinner scene, (donated by my Grandma). We successfully managed to get all the shots we needed and are now finished with filming.

Digipak

I have just edited one of the final pieces I shall be using for my CD art. I have just used a screenshot from a shot in our film, and edited it on Photoshop. This will go on the inside of my CD, and then I have only the actual to disk to cover !

Powder Paint Shoot !

On sunday our group finally shot the powder paint scene. It was very successful and managed to gain all the shots we wanted and needed ! Have started editing them using and have started trying to bring out the colours in the shots,

Digipak - Magazine Advert

I have just finished my magazine advertisement page for our album. I've almost finished my Digipak now and just need to complete my CD case !

I've started creating my album cover, which includes sprinkling powder paint over some paper and am pretty happy with how its turned out. Just need to use photoshop now to finish it off !

Powder Paint

The powder paint has arrived ! Unfortunately the green has slightly exploded. Now we can get going with our powder paint scene for our finale in our music video. (Hopefully its enough powder paint).

Costume

This is the jumper that Elizah will be wearing throughout our film. The jumper is called 'Alice on drugs'.

Film Idea's

Not very good quality, but I really love this effect and thought that it would be interesting if we included it into our film. As its quite a colourful effect it goes with the theme of our film and our main character, Elizah's personality as different and unique.

Filming

Here are a few print screens from the great shots that Alice collected when filming with Rosie in London. Alice managed to gain 4 minutes worth of film including Rosie lip synching !

Digipak

Here is the CD template that I shall be using for my Digipak. I will need at least 4 photos to cover the whole template, and I will want to include our main character Rosie in at least 2 of the photos.

DigiPak Ideas

 Recently i have been thinking of ideas for my Digipak. As our music video will largely include powder paint and Rosie, I hope to present these factors on my Digipak. So these are a couple of my ideas :

Firstly I thought of creating quite a simple but colourful single cover. I wanted to use a white sheet and cover it in different colours of powder paint (presenting the paint/colourful factor). I then wanted to write the letters of the single and artist in the powder paint, showing them through the white sheet. I thought this would be effective as it would help the words stand out amongst the powder paint, and create quite a fun single cover. 

                                        

 These images are my inspiration for my second idea. Wanting to have Rosie (our main character) included in our single cover and powder paint together I thought of covering her face and her in the paint. I would want a simple image and headshot of Rosie, simililar to these two images.

Inspiration

 This advert for Schwartz Flavour Shots has recently been shown on TV. I love how creative this advert is with the colours and how it was captured. The shots of difference powders and colours is something that we all hope our music video will be able to present. Due to this particular advert, our group have now been inspired to find more ways to capture shots of the powder paint in the air, possible sitting in a tree and throwing down powder paint but then reversing it when editing.

Music Video Inspiration

Athena recently found this music video by The Paper Kites, and have a similar scene that we want in our video. The ending of this video includes a pillow fight between young children and through the use of the feathers, becomes quite a colourful scene. Our group started with the idea of using powder paint (instead of feathers) and a group of teenagers (instead of children) and hope that our shots come out as playful and happy as these.
